Ivona Boroje
Festival Director
Ivona joined BHFF in 2017 and has worked on various aspects of the festival, such as communications, grant fundraising, programming, filmmaker interviews, as well as supporting translation, operations, guest relations and special events.
She is originally from northeast Bosnia and Herzegovina. Outside of the festival, she has worked in a number of different contexts such as a union, nonprofits and academia.
She is passionate about the arts and cultural exchange, community building, belonging, transformation, facilitation, complexity and emergence. She guides people through group processes such as Warm Data Labs and People-Need-People sessions.

Anne Eberhardt
Budget and Finance Director
Anne joined the festival in 2017 having been an avid fan for years. She is a forensic accountant with Gavin/Solmonese, which proudly supports her efforts on behalf of the BHFF.

Verushka GaNun
Events organizer, translator
Verushka is a solution consultant in the intellectual property field, specializing in trademarks and brand protection and a film aficionado; born and raised in former Yugoslavia and passionate about film as a way to connect, educate and entertain people across diverse backgrounds.
At BHFF she is helping with translations and event organizing.

Harun Ćurak
Web Content Manager
Harun (he/him) has been part of the BHFF team since 2023, contributing to both the creative and technical aspects of the festival.
Currently, he manages the festival’s website and produces video material that highlights its programming.
Outside of BHFF, he creates video essays and other digital media, drawing on his background in philosophy and film at Williams College.

Olivia Jenkins
Social Media
Olivia is the social media coordinator for this year's festival. She has been a part of the BHFF team since 2023.
In past years she has helped out with volunteer coordination, as well as PR and events. Volunteering at the festival has always been such a meaningful and fun experience for Olivia and she is excited to be back again!
Outside of the festival, Olivia is a PhD student in history at the University of Chicago studying gender and labor in socialist Yugoslavia.

Selma Dučanović
Social Media and Programming
Selma is an actress, writer, and podcaster originally from Ključ in the northwest of Bosnia. This is her first full year working with BHFF and is part of the Programming and Social Media teams.

Tijana Ga Nun
General Volunteer
Tijana volunteered last year and joined the team this year.
She enjoys getting lost in the world of cinema. She is a former bookworm who became a cinephile with a rich knowledge of silent, classic Hollywood, foreign and art house cinema.

Damir Pozderac
Development Director, Co-Founder
Damir was part of the BHFF founding team in 2003 and has since worked on nearly all aspects of the festival.
He has been the festival director for more than 10 years and brings great strategic and creative guidance to the team.
Currently, as the development director, he helps BHFF through grant writing, strategic collaborations, and partnerships with various organizations, foundations, state and city agencies. He also works as an architect in New York.

Amir Husak
Artistic Director (in 2025 on sabbatical and in an advising capacity)
Amir has been involved with BHFF since 2007 on various tasks as a jury member, film panelist, and curator. He rejoined BHFF in 2016 as a festival programmer and stepped in as the new Artistic Director of the festival in 2022.
He is a documentary media maker and scholar with a varied portfolio of articles, films, and interactive works.
In 2016, Amir co-edited a volume on socially engaged art practices in Bosnia-Herzegovina titled Kriza, Umjetnost, Akcija (Crisis, Art, Action). He is an Assistant Professor of Media Studies at The New School in New York City.

Adna Karabegović
Fundraising & Donor Relations
Adna joined the BHFF in 2024 and is part of the development team.
Originally from Banja Luka, BiH, Adna has joined the to bring a slice of BiH culture to the gates of NYC – celebrating Bosnia’s diversity, arts and vibrant culture through film.

Samantha Ryzman
Executive Programming Assistant
Samantha is an aspiring film snob/nanny who has been with the festival since she joined the team as a Production Assistant in 2021.
She is thrilled to be the Executive Programming Assistant this year.

Mark Hamer
Programming and Technical Assistant
Mark is an award-winning filmmaker, photographer, and educator based in New York City. He is earning a degree in Inclusive and Independent Filmmaking through CUNY BA.
He is a documentary film instructor at the Educational Video Center (EVC) and a Technical Assistant as well as Programming Assistant for the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival (BHFF).
His work explores themes of resistance, identity, and social justice. His documentary Specter of Srebrenica won Best Cinematography and received an Honorable Mention for Best Documentary at the BMCC Film Festival, and his photography has been featured in Project Atlas: Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Dijana Jelača
Programming Director
Dijana has been the festival's programmer since 2016.
With her significant expertise in Bosnian-Herzegovinian and regional cinema, she brings invaluable contributions to the festival, specifically to the film selection and the festival's Q&A events with the filmmakers in attendance.
Dijana is a widely published film scholar, including books Dislocated Screen Memory: Narrating Trauma in Post Yugoslav Cinema, and Film Feminisms: A Global Introduction. She teaches in the Film Department at Brooklyn College.

Orfeas Skutelis
Technical Director
Orfeas is a cinematographer born in Novi Sad (former Yugoslavia).
He graduated from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad with a degree in cinematography and received an MA in Media Studies from The New School in New York where he currently teaches. He's been with BHFF since 2019.

Nerma Keserović
Guest Relations
Nerma joined BHFF in 2024, taking the lead in guest relations.
Outside of the festival, she is deeply passionate about healthcare and dedicated to driving innovation and compassionate leadership in the U.S. healthcare system.

Keith McGraw
AV
Keith has a background in live music, sound art, and audiovisual exhibitions.
Since 2018, he has worked at the Brooklyn Museum producing live events and installing time-based media works, with a particular interest in immersive sound pieces. He joined the BHFF team in 2023.

Ishara Jack
Programming Assistant
Ishara has been on the BHFF programming team since 2019.
She has volunteered at the New York Film Festival, Tribeca, and DOCNYC. As an associate producer she has worked on several award winning short form documentary videos for the Simons Foundation’s Science Sandbox and for BLM.
